Estimator - Civil

Highland Consulting Group is a National Executive Recruiting firm that specializes in Commercial & Industrial construction.

We are working with a large civil contractor in the Irwin area that has an immediate need for a Civil Estimator. Successful candidates must have a minimum of 5 years experience as an Estimator working with Heavy Highway, Ground stabilization, Excavation, and Structural concrete We are recruiting for highly motivated and energetic individuals.

Our client focuses on projects in the area so little travel is required. They are a very well established union contractor that has a huge backlog of projects for the next few years. They are a well-managed company that supports their employees

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Read and understand the project specifications
• Development of master budgets and cost models for Civil & Highway projects 
• Provide conceptual estimates of projects
• Provide Hard Bid Estimates of projects
• Develop and maintain cost databases
• Reviews and comments on estimates provided by others
• Provide independent estimates of change orders
• Develop pre-construction cost estimates
• Stay in contact with past clients for repeat work.

Job Requirements 

• Solid Communication both verbal and written.
• Ability to establish timelines and budgets.
• Experience in cost estimation and negotiating.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Ability to lead productive, multi-discipline meetings.
• Solid, proven and verifiable record of career stability and project management success a must.
• Experience: 5 years experience as a Esitimator with a Civil Contractor focused on large Civil Projects with PennDot and/or PA Turnpike experience
• A four year degree is required - Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred
• Willing travel to regionally periodically
