Purchasing Manager – HVAC

We are recruiting a detail-oriented Purchasing Manager with HVAC purchasing experience. Our client is a larger regional HVAC contractor in the Chantilly, MD area. The ideal candidate will have experience in negotiating with suppliers, managing inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery of materials. As a Purchasing Manager, you will play a crucial role in optimizing costs and maintaining high-quality standards in our HVAC projects.This position is extremely important to the success of the company and reports directly to the Executive Team. No travel is anticipated.
Responsibilities
- Source and qualify vendors as necessary in order to meet project demands
- Ensure that materials are delivered as scheduled
- Collaborate with suppliers, vendors and Project Managers to establish and improve relationships, quality and overall partnerships
- Reduce and/or maintain material costs through cost saving techniques along with strategic negotiation with vendors
- Negotiate all vendor pricing of all front end commodities
- Analyze multiple vendor bids and create all project budgets
- Negotiate and monitor master contract agreements and vendor work scopes
- Responsible for creation and distribution of all purchase orders and variance purchase orders
- Continuously monitor and update vendor pricing
Requirements
- 5 years experience working as a Purchasing Manager in the construction industry with HVAC projects
- Experience with direct purchasing
- Experience with direct import preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience managing / monitoring vendor rebates
- Experience negotiated large contracts is preferred
- Experience managing purchasing department is preferred
- Strong computer skills
- Must be extremely organized
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
