Quality Manager – Metals Manufacturing

This critical role offers an exciting opportunity to lead all Quality & Continuous Improvement efforts across 2 local plants (about 30 minutes apart), located an hour west of Chicago, IL. With 500 non-union employees, 2 shifts, and $120M in annual sales, they’re looking for a “hands-on” Quality Leader that will drive excellence, inspire a team, and make a direct impact on our manufacturing processes.
What You’ll Do:
· Lead and develop a quality team of up to 10 direct reports across multiple shifts, fostering accountability and professional growth.
· Provide direct support on the production floor, ensuring quality standards are upheld in real time.
· Oversee quality operations across 2 manufacturing facilities, maintaining alignment and consistency.
· Drive Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
· Collaborate directly with customers, serving as the face of quality for our client company.
· Maintain and advance compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 certifications.
· Hold teams accountable to quality standards, processes, and improvement goals.
What You Bring:
· A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical, Quality or Business discipline.
· At least 5 years of proven Quality Management experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Prior experience in metals fabrication / manufacturing.
· Expertise in Quality Systems, Lean methodologies, and Continuous Improvement.
· Strong ability to lead teams, enforce accountability, and support team success.
· Familiarity with ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001) and their practical application.
· Experience driving Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement initiatives.
· Excellent communication skills to engage with teams, customers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
· Willingness to travel regularly between 2 nearby manufacturing locations.
