The Director of Business Development will play a critical role in driving market share and revenue growth within the large commercial, community solar, and utility-scale markets. This position requires a proactive and strategic professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, capable of identifying opportunities, building long-term partnerships, and closing deals. With the support of a talented team of Sales Engineers and Project Managers, this role will focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences and driving the company's success in the renewable energy market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business plan to expand market share and revenue within target markets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with C&I and Utility-Scale Developers, EPCs, and other key stakeholders.
- Lead value-based sales efforts by understanding customer needs and providing tailored solutions that demonstrate the company’s competitive advantage.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Sales Engineers and Operations, to ensure seamless project execution and high customer satisfaction.
- Identify market trends and provide insights to the marketing and product teams to support the development of profitable offerings.
- Use CRM tools like Salesforce to manage leads, track sales progress, and maintain data accuracy.
- Represent the company at industry events and conferences to build brand awareness and generate new leads.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of outside sales experience in the solar industry, with a proven track record of hitting or exceeding sales targets.
- A strong network of relationships with Commercial and Utility-Scale Developers and EPCs.
- Demonstrated ability to close complex transactions and navigate long sales cycles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and MS Office Suite.
- Knowledge of solar racking and tracking systems is highly desirable.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary Range: $100,000–$120,000 base, with an uncapped commission structure.
