Electrical Preconstruction Manager

Location: Dallas–Fort Worth, TX ( Will pay for Relocation)
Compensation & Benefits
- Base: $100,000–$160,000 (DOE) + Bonus

Role Summary
Own electrical pre construction from concept through handoff. Build accurate estimates, lead value engineering and constructability, and support BD in winning large commercial and healthcare work. If you can’t price and defend $5M–$10M+ electrical packages with confidence, skip this one.
Responsibilities
- Produce estimates at conceptual, DD, and CD stages; deliver clear takeoffs, scopes, and GMP inputs
- Support BD with proposal content and interview presentations
- Track market cost trends; maintain current pricing benchmarks
- Develop relationships with GCs, architects, and engineering firms; qualify subs/vendors
- Lead VE/value analysis, constructability reviews, and schedule input
- Level subcontractor proposals and recommend awards
- Contribute to staffing plans and precon schedules prior to turnover
Qualifications
- 6+ years electrical estimating for an electrical contractor (not GC)
- Wins on large commercial/healthcare projects (higher ed, offices, hospitals; $5M–$10M+ electrical), new builds & expansions
- Proficient with Accubid and/or ConEst; working knowledge of AutoCAD/Revit
- Strong employment stability and references
- Bachelor’s in Construction Management or Engineering preferred (or equivalent experience)
Success Metrics (first 6–12 months)
- Conceptual estimates tracking within agreed variance at buyout
- Clean scope books; subs leveled with zero surprises at award
- Repeat shortlist selections driven by sharp proposals and confident interview delivery
