Position Summary
The Electrical Estimator is responsible for being an organized, service-orientated individual to provide support to our sales staff with project quotes and pricing. The estimator will prepare a bill of material and cost estimates by analyzing proposals and requirements. This position will be responsible for communicating with a variety of departments, vendors, employees, and customers to ensure estimates are completed on time and appropriate paperwork is completed as per company and Customer specifications.
Responsibilities
- Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- If necessary will visit Customer Site for job walk.
- Create a detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) as needed; identifies labor, material, and time requirements based on the documents provided. Order material for BOM and approving all material invoices.
- Computes costs by analyzing the labor, material, and time requirements.
- Requesting quotes for equipment and Power components from supplier
- Perform Takeoffs and estimates for work position is quoting.
- Create proposals and regularly following up on prepared bids.
- Coordinating work with Sales staff, project managers and General Manager.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and industry publications.
- Contributes to team effort by meeting company and Customer expectations.

- Observe all safety rules and Best Practices; Follow all company policies and procedures.

- Meet customers on-site and review and identify their needs as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in related field or experience equivalency and a minimum of 5 years related electrical construction experience.
- Ability to read and understand complex blueprints, schematics, parts lists, and additional technical materials for troubleshooting circuit breakers and electrical power equipment.
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with customers and peers.
- Dependable and responsible with good judgment and organizational skills.
- Good customer service, time management and follow-up skills.
- Self-management of assigned projects and job cost accountability to perform work within budgeted cost estimates.
- Negotiation skills.
- Able to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.

Travel: 0-25%
