Special Projects Manager - Mechanical

We are currently looking to fill a Special Projects Manager position for a Mechanical contractor in the Pittsburgh, PA area. They are recruiting for a creative, driven person that can run projects from conception to completion that wants to make the company money as well as be rewarded for their efforts. Our client is a Large Regional Contractor that is in expansion mode. The type of project mix includes Commercial, Government, Education, Healthcare, and Light Industrial. Experience in all areas is a plus but not required.
Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Manages and supervises all phases of assigned projects
- Perform Account Development and build relationships with customers
- Work with local General Contractors and directly with property owners
- Create a project scope of work and estimate the cost of the projects
- Work as a Project Manager and manage concurrent projects that can be multi-million-dollar projects
- Negotiate all change orders and maintain change order logs
- Manages project budget and approves all expenses
- Interface with the owner on all projects assigned
- Perform project punch-list inspection(s), in coordination with superintendent and the owner’s representative, and issue punch list to all relevant subcontractors
- Create Invoices, assemble and maintain complete project records and close-out documents
Job Requirements
- Knowledge of Piping, HVAC & Plumbing Systems
- Solid Communication both verbal and written
- Ability to lead productive, multi-discipline meetings
- Able to manage and develop 4-5 key direct accounts
- Ability to establish timelines and budgets
- Experience: 5 years experience as a Mechanical Project Manager with a Mechanical contractor with relevant experience on projects larger than 1 Million dollars that consisted of Mechanical Piping, Plumbing, and Sheet Metal
- A Bachelors degree is required. Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or Project Management degrees are preferred.
