The Director of Physician Compensation is a critical leadership position responsible for designing, implementing, and managing physician compensation models that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. This role ensures fair market value, compliance, and strategic alignment with physician engagement and organizational financial objectives.
Some key responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain physician compensation models, including RVU-based structures and quality/incentive pay components.
- Update RVU tables regularly and analyze the financial impact of adjustments.
- Collaborate with finance to assess cost implications of compensation requests.
- Establish processes for accurate and timely compensation calculations.
This person will report to the Physician Enterprise leader, who is described as firm but fair, and wants someone with effective communication and collaboration skills. Since this is such an urgent role, they would consider a tenured interim candidate.
The permanent salary midpoint for this role is 140k based on years of experience, education, and scope of previous role. The interim salary is based on years of experience, travel requirements, and length of assignment.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree required, Masters preferred.
- 5 Years compensation analysis experience required.
- 2 Years of provider compensation experience required.
- Deep expertise in physician compensation, including fair market value analysis.
- Strong understanding of RVUs and physician incentive structures.
- Ability to design and implement compensation models beyond simple per-click arrangements.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations impacting physician pay.
