Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid sales position focused on new account acquisition in the Manhattan and Brooklyn territory. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and securing new restaurant and food service clients through field sales activities, maintaining prospect relationships, and developing proposals until conversion.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct outside sales activities focused on new account acquisition
- Make cold calls and set appointments with prospective restaurant and food service clients
- Maintain contact with prospects, develop pricing proposals, and manage the sales pipeline
- Participate in weekly in-office sales meetings to organize weekly activities and strategy
- Utilize Fridays for sales-related tasks such as pricing analysis, upselling opportunities, and account research
- Leverage industry-leading AS 400 NCR food service software to manage accounts and proposals
Qualifications & Requirements
Required:
- Direct experience in food service distribution sales, restaurant sales, or selling to the food service industry; OR
- Experience selling complementary services/products to restaurants with an established client network to leverage
- Strong self-motivation, work ethic, and ability to hustle in a competitive environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
- Proficiency with CRM and sales software (training provided on AS 400 NCR system)
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Willingness to spend 80% of time in the field conducting outside sales in Manhattan and Brooklyn
- Must be located within commutable distance to NYC
Preferred:
- Established book of business or client relationships in the food service industry
- 1-2+ years of sales experience in food distribution or restaurant sales
