THE HEALTHCARE INITIATIVE
Where Talent Meets Opportunity
Director of Nursing, Cath Lab – MSN Required
Southwest | Permanent
We are partnering with a large acute-care hospital in the Southwest to identify a Director of Nursing for Cath Lab. This hospital has grown into one of the region's most active cardiovascular programs. They were among the first in the market to bring in advanced imaging technology for cardiac care. That same forward posture continues today, with a cardiac team built for speed, precision, and close physician collaboration.
The hospital is part of a larger regional health system with additional acute care hospitals, physician practices, and outpatient locations. For a Director, that means institutional resources and infrastructure behind the role, without losing the identity of a single, tight-knit cardiac team.
The Opportunity
This Director will oversee approximately 40+ employees including two Clinical Supervisors across:
- Cardiac Cath Lab
- Electrophysiology
- Structural Heart
- Interventional Radiology
- Vascular Access
- Stress Testing
The program includes complex PCI, CTO, Impella, TAVR, MitraClip, AFib ablation, pulmonary and neuro thrombectomy, and neurovascular coiling.
Growth Ahead
The hospital recently launched an AFib ablation program, creating a significant opportunity to build EP volume and strengthen the overall cardiovascular platform.
Additional priorities include:
- Growing relationships with independent cardiology groups
- Expanding cardiovascular volume while maintaining quality
- Developing the EP program
- Growing elective Interventional Radiology
- Evaluating future Cath Lab capacity and space needs
The Director will play an important role in physician partnership, program development, and long-term cardiovascular strategy.
Ideal Background
We are looking for a nursing leader who brings:
- MSN required
- Minimum of five years of clinical experience
- 3+ years of Cath Lab management experience
- Current or eligible RN license
- Strong cardiovascular operational experience
- Demonstrated ability to partner with physicians and support program growth
Why the Location
The area offers year-round sunshine, a low cost of living relative to many major metros, no state income tax, and a fast-growing healthcare market. The area combines big-city amenities with easy access to outdoor recreation, including nearby mountains, lakes, and national parkland.
Compensation & Benefits
The organization offers competitive, market-based compensation along with:
- Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage
- 401(k) with company match
- Tuition and educational reimbursement
- Employee referral bonus opportunities
- Career growth and development opportunities within the hospital and broader system
- Health and wellness resources, including an Employee Assistance Program
